About Us

Established in 2010, Pack 8880 has quickly become one of the premier Cub Scout Packs in the Appalachian Trail district. Consistently achieving the Unit of Excellence award by going above and beyond to develop youth’s character, teaching them the skills necessary to become confident outdoorsmen, great citizens and stewards of the community.

We are an active unit that enjoys camping on a regular basis and participating in several community service projects throughout the year. Pack 8880 draws from Indian Knoll Elementary School and the surrounding communities of Holly Springs, Canton, Woodstock and Ball Ground, GA. The Pack serves boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade with Lion, Tiger, Wolf & Bear den and Webelos I & II patrol programs. Starting with an inaugural membership of just eight boys, the Pack has grown annually to now exceed a thriving roster of over 50 boys

The leaders of Pack 8880 are committed to providing the best possible Scouting experience available. The leadership maintains a monthly meeting schedule for unit planning and each leader continually develops their own personal training schedule by attending a wide variety of leadership training programs.

Pack 8880 is a family inclusive Scouting unit. We welcome all members of the family to join us. We participate in trail hikes, camping trips, the Pinewood Derby & Raingutter Regatta and many service projects. Every year Pack 8880 participates in Scouting For Food; a community service program developed to collect canned goods from the community to be donated to local charity. For the past two years, MUST Ministries has been the primary recipient of the donations. We’re proud to say Pack 8880 consistently brings in some of the highest donations in county and in the spirit of the cub scout motto, we will “Do Our Best” to collect the most donations every year.

The Pack is grateful for the opportunity to place flags and wreaths at the headstones of our fallen heros at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton for Memorial Day and Christmas respectively. We have an awesome program scheduled for the upcoming Scouting year and encourage you to click on the Pack Itinerary files in the FILES menu for a full listing of our planned activities. We also invite you to visit a den meeting with your child to check us out
